Blurb | Silmido Movie Guns Not Props After All

21 May 2009 745 views 0 Comments

Says the lead story in the Chosun today, the bang bang guns featured in Silmido, the true to life story about a secret commando mission to off the North’s Dear Leader, Kim Il-Sung (Jong-il’s daddy), were not prop M-16 or AK-47 rifles after all.

It turns out that the rifles were in fact ‘expired’ rifles and pistols  that somehow made it to the Silmido set from the Paramount Studio lot in the U.S.  Investigators found the weapons being stored in the possession of one Mr. Chung, 51, the propmaster in charge of the weapons.   Any movie fans know how they managed this?
