Google Earth | Seoul in 2D Land, New York in Sim City
For those of you have tried Google Earth, you’ll know that South Korea has for reasons of national security blotted out huge swaths of countryside. Luckily, you can see all of Seoul up to a certain resolution on their satellite view. We’ve also been eagerly anticipating Google Street View to come to Seoul but that’s not entirely certain given Seoul’s uncountable alley roads (golmok-gil, or 골목길 in Korean).
In the meantime, cry your eyes out on this! Check out Google Earth’s breath-taking 3D model of New York as seen through their rendering of hundreds of thousands of pictures of NYC’s streets and buildings! Although there are around a dozen Asian cities in similar development on Google Earth, there is no listing for Seoul at this time. Guess we’re stuck with Congnamul for the time being.
This is not a photo, but a photo-realistic rendering of many pictures from Google!

Compare that awesome-ness with Seoul!
