Mokdong’s Lotte Apartment Winner, a luxury highrise so aptly named for this story, will soon witness another winner, quite literally, move in as early as the end of the year.   That winner could be you! 

Customers visiting any of the several LOTTE Department stores throughout Seoul are eligible to win a free apartment or a whole host of smaller but equally attention-getting prizes including: a 1-million won gift certificate given away daily; a Lacetti compact car; and a studio apartment. 

As in the past Asian Financial Crisis, Lotte aims to boost its sales in a flagging economy by enticing more customers to visit their department stores.    

Excerpt from the JoonAng Daily:

Lotte Department Store said yesterday in a release that it will give a 107-square-meter (1,151-square-feet) apartment in Yangcheon District, western Seoul, to one of its customers for free.

This is the second time Lotte Department Store has given away an apartment. The first was in 1998, during the Asian financial crisis, when the prize was a 95-square-meter home. Nearly 1 million shoppers participated in the sweepstakes.

Anyone who visits a Lotte Department Store branch during the 10-day winter sale from yesterday through Dec. 7 is eligible to enter the contest. Within three hours of opening yesterday, the store’s main Sogong-dong branch saw 1,400 shoppers enter for the prize.

Sounds like we’ll be buying our Christmas socks at LOTTE.  Contest lasts from now to December 8th during LOTTE’s 10-day sale.
