KAIST Lunar Module Calling Matt Groening

The first thing we thought of when KAIST unveiled their unmanned robotic lunar module was the stark resemblance to Matt Groening’s Bender.   Hopefully, this unmanned robot doesn’t run on soju and cynicism.

A Korean team has independently developed a small unmanned lunar module. Kwon Se-jin, a professor of space engineering at KAIST, on Thursday said the team, collaboration with Space Solution, have developed and tested a module that can travel to the moon from the earth’s orbit and land on the moon’s surface with its own engine propulsion.
