We’ve started a monthly collaborist (a mash up of collaboration and list) with our readers to figure out The Best of November. Here’s a starter list!
- Have tea at Insa-dong or Samchung-dong
- Watch a play or act in any one of the intimate theaters in Daehang-ro (Hyehwa Station | Line 4)
- Hot sake and Tashomoran dining at Haikaraya in Apgu / Hongdae / Insadong (original)
- Rent bikes at Yeuido / Hangang Riverside Park
- Check out the Royal Korean palaces throughout Seoul and the countryside
- Hike the mountains (Bukhan Mt. | Gwanak Mt. | Namsan Mt.)
- Go on a Temple stay
- Bake sweet potatos (goguma) in a fire or wood-burning stove
- Make kimchi with friends, family, and for charity! (Charity event is nationwide starting November 17)
- Order Thanksgiving turkey for 10 catered by the Dragon Hill Lodge and have an American Thanksgiving (article by Seoul Eats)

I would totally fly home right now but plane tickets are too expensive! So, instead I would recommend Cheongyecheon/City Hall area. They always put up lights Nov-Dec. It’s just great to walk around with a few friends and find some old fashioned restaurant or beer hof.

I just finished walking around Yeouido Park and Olympic Park over the weekend. As of right now (11/17) their colors are in full bloom, and hopefully will stay that way until next weekend

I’d like to add that a friend who’s an English teacher but not a member here and one of the owners, maybe the only one, of Reggae Pub in Itaewon are planning a party/event for Nov. 29th. Think the starting time is 8pm. Obviously you can go when you want. I didn’t hear anything about the activities. Maybe they will try to do something special such as games, prepare foods, pool or drinking contest. If you want more info I can ask. Hope to see you there. Not sure if there’s room for all of you at once!
