KOTESOL (Korea Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) is holding its annual conference at Sookmyung Women’s University this weekend.   Over 600 registrants from the ELT teaching community will attend workshops and symposia.   Guest speakers and meetings will cover teacher methodology, resources, and publications geared toward improving teaching skills for the improvement of Korea’s English education.

This is the event of the year for most professional TESOL-trained teachers, although, this is a great chance for any EFL teacher who works at a hagwon to learn, network, and see the industry at its most academic.   There are always speakers who will offer insights into the latest education trends and concepts, which may be useful knowledge for future teacher professionals or even parents interested in their children’s education.

From the Korea Times:

“KOTESOL, an affiliate of TESOL Inc., was founded in Korea in 1992 to help both Korean and non-Korean English teachers improve their teaching skills and for the development of Korean English education. It is also working with other world education organizations such as Oxford University Press and Pearson Education/Longman. Anyone interested in English education is welcome at the conference. For more information, visit the KOTESOL Web site, www.kotesol.org.”
