Street Beat | Star Wars Bar

Our beat reporters in Seoul have always been a fixture on the late night bar scene.
What are twentysomethings to do with their discretionary income once the rent and student loans are paid?
Well, in Korea, among a throng of young people in college towns like Hongdae or expat scenes in Itaewon, one might find after a few cocktails / beers / shots of soju that the bar scene might start looking like Han Solo’s encounter in the bar on Tattooine.
If you haven’t noticed 80′s clothes are on the march like Michael Jackson’s Thriller (<-video), hipster clothes on rail thin frames, metro men, hot pants, hot pants, and hot pants! This is a fun post, really. What do you think of your wardrobe?
Are khaki pants not stylish, anymore!? The good or crazy thing is that I think 80s clothes, because they’ve been circulating more or less on the dusty racks of places like Dongdaemun since, well, the ’88 Olympics, I think I can cheaply get a new look…er old-look.
Let’s not get into workplace fashion just yet, okay?
For a visual reference dictionary here’s a Seoul fashion blogger’s take on things: Feet Man Seoul.
